Rare Antique Silver Watermelon Paste Watch Fob Charm Pendant

$295.00
Was lucky to buy a dealer's stock who sold in the 1970's and she had amazing antique pieces-this in one of them.

The earliest verison of watermelon glass I've seen. The watermelon glass and paste are cut like old mine cut diamonds so this is dating to the Victorian period. Most likely the last quarter of the 19th century. The stones are bezel set and each one appears unique in shape. The watch fob is not marked but it shines up like sterling. Possible it is a lower grade silver. I didn't really polish it much but you can rub the metal and remove the patina. I would'nt use any water on it as it might damage the paste.

The condition is very good for the age. You will note there is wear to the facet junctions of stones but overall this piece was loving worn and enjoyed. No cracks or chips. Paste is still sparkley and whitish.

Top to bottom 1" and 3/4" diameter.

Layaway available. Great piece to invest in and enjoy as it appreciates.
