Platinum Art Deco Watch with Diamond and Cabochon Sapphire Strap

$1,800.00

This piece came straight from my collection -I haven't been wearing her and she deserves to be out and about.

c1930

The watch is platinum and the strap is 14K white gold. The face is so easy to read unlike a lot of the vintage watches. Art Deco style numbers with stylized patterns on the dial. The dial measures about 1" tall. The case has round cut diamonds on the sides and French cut sapphires channel set at the north and south. The French cut diamonds are manmade sapphire and test with sapphire properties.

My favorite part of the watch is the strap with alternating rectangle shape filigree links of round cut Old European diamonds and cabochon diamond shape manmade sapphires. On all edges of the piece there engravings. The strap is substantial measuring approx. .25 inches wide.

The clasp at some point in its life was updated to ensure it would never fall from the wrist. It has the original hidden box clasp with fold up safety, then someone added a slightly larger buttons to open the clasp and a fold over safety, there is also a safety chain.

The back of the watch is so pretty with engraving of flowers and initials. Condition is very good-stones are free from abrasion or chips.

The watch movement at some point in its life was changed over to a quartz so all you need is to replace the battery when it needs a new one. Very easy -the back is hinged and lifts up. It has run just fine for me all these years and is still currently keeping good time. I can't promise it will always work but being quartz it can be repairs.

An unusually substantial Art Deco watch that you don't have to fear you will break.

Currently she is about 5 3/4 inches-she is meant to be worn up on the wrist tight. If you need it longer jewelers are able to add in links at the back to increase the length. Approx. 23.2 grams
