Antique Victorian c1880 14K Yellow Gold Dramatic Locket Brooch Set with Garnets

Stunning Antique Victorian 14K Yellow Gold Brooch with 6 crimped set pear cut rhodalite garnets approx. 6x4 mm, and a center set oval garnet 6.4 x 4.2 mm, approx. 3.5 cts. The garnets are a slightly purplish pink hue.  Between the garnets are textured leafs and ball motifs set in an concave oval frame with twisted gold rope border.  The outer frame is engraved.  The brooch features swags of oval link chains and a decorative tassel with point finials.  

Back side has a small loop at the top which originally would have had a chain and small safety pin.  C-clas closure and a large glass front oval hair or picture locket. The brooch has been acid tested throughout as 14K.  The pin stem is likely not gold -these tended to be made from a stronger alloy mixture. 

Condition is very good for a true antique.
