This 14k Art Deco watch in rose, green and white gold is a true little surprise—more jewel than timepiece at first glance. At the center is a hidden watch face, cleverly concealed beneath a decorative cover, a hallmark of Art Deco ingenuity and glamour. The cover is adorned with a stylized ruby set floral motif (in the flower heads approx. 2.2 mm each, in the bar below watch approx. 2.4 mm each, 11 diamonds are set in white gold measuring approx. 2 mm -2.4 mm each.
The bracelet-style band features articulated, geometric links that drape fluidly over the wrist. Even the details—like the curved diamond accent and stepped metalwork—reflect the era’s love of bold geometry softened by graceful lines.
The “surprise” lies in its dual nature:
Closed, it appears to be an ornate gemstone bracelet
Opened, it reveals a discreet, functional manual wind watch
Overall, it’s a stunning example of Art Deco craftsmanship, combining jewelry, engineering, and a touch of playful mystery in one refined piece.
The case is 3/4” wide, strap 3/8” wide, comes with additional links adding 7/8” to an approx. 6.25” current length-so around 7" total if extra links addded. The fold over clasp can also be tweaked to make longer.
This piece has been in my personal collection for many years, keeping good time. I can’t promise it will always work but the parts are there. Fold over clasp with safety chain. 40.6 grams
